Led by experienced Senior Helicon View tutor Tom Moores, our 11+ courses have an exceptional reputation for preparing pupils for the tough 11+/pre-test process to come. Our best tutors have vast experience working with students at every level, one-to-one and in groups. This experience is brought to our school entrance courses to ensure that the confidence and skillset of every pupil is strengthened and developed with examination success in mind.
The autumn course is the perfect opportunity for late-stage revision and exam practice, for pupils in Y6 who are preparing for exams at the end of 2023, and at the start of 2024. The sessions will cover English, Maths and Reasoning, and the material will cover both the multiple-choice style of testing and the written test format for schools which still set written papers.
Ambitious Y5 students are welcome to attend.
All updated examinations will be covered, including Consortium papers. Please be sure to let us know which schools you are considering when you sign up for a course.
Each course will finish with mock exams in English and Maths, which will be tailored towards the assessment methods of individual students’ top school choices, and marked by our specialist tutors. Parents will subsequently receive written feedback to help them to strategise and prepare more effectively over the time remaining before exams.
Welcoming up to 12 pupils, each course will cover comprehension technique, compositional writing, consolidation of key maths topics, problem-solving skills, handling nerves, time management, and non-verbal and verbal reasoning tips.
Past participants in our 11+ courses have earned places at St. Paul's (Girls' and Boys' Schools), Westminster, North London Collegiate, City, Habs, Highgate, UCS, Merchant Taylors, Francis Holland, South Hampstead High, Latymer Upper, Godolphin, Notting Hill and Ealing, Winchester, Eton, Wycombe Abbey and many more. Several have been offered academic scholarships.
